Originally brought into compliance early during the God Emperor’s Great Crusade[1], Aeyrgaard was a shining example of an isolated human world brought back into the light of the Emperor and the fold of humanity.
During the [Reference deleted] heresy, Aeyrgaard, knowing its true duty, immediately declared itself for the Emperor; and from its ideal locale launched many successful counter-offensives against the traitors. Despite being subjected to attack numerous times Aeyrgaard repelled them all; its massive munitions foundries remaining operational and forming a lynchpin in the Imperium’s struggle.

Wrecked vehicle markers

I saw this on Bolter and Chainsword and just had to share it. I had my doubts at first when reading the description but when you see it in the youtube clip it looks awesome! We should definitely make some of these.

Quote:

The things I bought were:

A six pack of flickering electric candles
Hot Glue for my Hot Glue Gun
Pillow Stuffing
Black Spray Paint

Upon arriving at home shortly after, I started. The steps are simple, as as follows:
1. Take flickering electric candle, and liberally apply clear hotglue all over the surface and sides.
2. Take Pillow foam, and rip it into a sensible shape for a smoke effect
3. Take the pillow foam, and attach the base of it to the glue covered electric candle, and make sure it sits well without showing the actual base.
4. Let Dry for 10 minutes
5. Spray from afar, as well as close up in alternating method with black spray paint to achieve a smoke look. Try to leave a little white of the foam showing, which will now be a bit grey looking.

You're a very special boy part 2

Characters I love part 2.

Skarbrand - The Exiled One.

In the second of this irregular column I want to talk about Skarbrand.  I love him and so should you.  Now remember this column isn’t about celebrating broken characters, it is about me loving the fluff and the way that the characters fluff is represented on the table top.

INCOMING! The 2nd 40K Campaign Day: Sun 27th Feb

WAR IS COMING!

The second of this type of event; and as with the previous 40K campaign day - this is not a tournament - the emphasis is on enjoying the game and playing out scenarios with you opponent rather than competing against them.

There is going to be even more fantastic terrain and the idea is to include even more varied battle types into the campaign day. Further info on this to follow...

Iyanden

Wanted to do something with my air brush a little more ambitious than Imperial Tank camo patterns, and before I dash headlong into the titan, I thought I'd have a go air brushing a couple of table top minis.

So, coming to a battlefield near you soon:

Badab War Extra Scenarios

Two extra goodies from forge world:

Red Hour

Doom of Hive Dominar

Obsequiousmelon went to see the smurfs movie and wants to know where Gargamel is????

I’ll be honest. The Ultramarines movie was the most disappointing thing since The Phantom Menace... Oh wait hang on maybe thats a bit harsh. It certainly was disappointing though.

Now let me be clear I’m not going to go on some nerd boy rage, rant. I’m going to be objective and consider it in exactly the same way I would when watching any film.
So, it is incredibly exciting isn’t it? At last a 40k film about space marines. All the things we have been reading about brought gloriously to life in a CGI film... Cool... I guess.

The first thing I want to do is to understand who this is made for. When films are commissioned, the producers pitch who is likely to come and see it, this helps decide things like the budget and the tone of the script. So Games Workshop had two options when they decided to make a film, they could either make a simple story designed to open up the universe to a new audience and (hopefully) new customers, or they could make a film fully immersed in the universe that will reward the current fans’ already extensive knowledge.

The Groupie King

Unlike a lot of players out there, I'm really not all that into special characters. They often seem uneccessary and badly written (one day Mat Ward will be found dead after being force fed a number of skulltaker models). However, there's one guy that I am immensely fond of and is strangely often considered a bad choice in the new edition.

Sigvald's backstory tells of a divinely handsome, inbred, cruel little prince of the northern tribes who goes on an oedipal killing spree amongst his own royal family and ends up walking into the wastes alone, seeking patronage from a chaos power. Of course, the one who answers is Slaanesh and he becomes the dark prince, adored by thousands, feared by more.

So why is Sigvald cool? Well, you could start out by looking at his obvious abilities. He, for the most part, has a Chaos Lord's statline, coupled with some pretty cool gear. The thing is, nowadays in th

e reign of 8th edition, a lot of these abilities are downplayed quite a bit. Sigvald was actually the answer to Chaos Warrior's prayers in 7th as he made his unit im
mune to march blocking and being slowed by terrain, he was stubborn on Ld10, so when your Chaos Warriors got smacked about by the oh-so-many things that were harder than them, they stayed and on top of that he had always strikes first, so there was a chance that he could cut down a couple of those blood knights before they gang raped your chaos warriors and refused to even call them afterwards.

You're a very special boy!

So there are three things I hate.
1) The fact that since I have become an English teacher I spot grammatical mistakes everywhere but not in my own writing!
2) People that moan about Games Workshop whilst still buying their plastic crack.
3) When Games Workshop write stupid characters that don’t fit their own fluff (oh the irony).
So I thought about what I can add to the blog and I came up with what you are reading now. This is going to be an irregular piece about Special Characters that I think are awesome. Now lets be clear, I don’t mean broken and uber powerful, I mean a well written and thought out character with rules that represent their fluff really well (see point 3).
First up is Pedro Kantor. I love this guy... Seriously. He is cooler than Artemis360’s leather jacket.
Special characters in the space marine codex modify the rules of the army which gives the player a chance to build armies that synch with the fluff better and this is Kantor’s strength.
Now I know that a lot of you out there are saying, ‘oh yeah, this post is going to descend into min, max lists, with a sh** ton of stern guard in the list. Right?’ Well I’m a Necron player so yes I have been on the receiving end of the three units of sternguard with combi weapons in drop pods making me phase out before I have rolled a dice. But honestly that list is powerful but easily countered (for anyone with options in their codex, so not my tin cans then!)
So like I said I don’t like him because
